Winter Fruit Macaroons

Coconut macaroons with sweetened condensed milk instead of egg whites are my version of a recipe my mom loved. All you do is mix, drop and bake. —Veronica Miller, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania

Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2-1/4 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 2-1/4 cups coarsely chopped dates
  • 1-1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 3/4 cup dried cherries
  • 3/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  2. Bake until light brown, 8-10 minutes. Cool on pans 5 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. Store in an airtight container.
