How to Store Scarlet Sipper
Since this scarlet sipper recipe is made with both fruit juice and carbonated soda, it doesn’t keep for too long. If you want to make a batch of scarlet sippers ahead of time, mix the juices and store the mixture in the fridge. Add the ginger ale when you’re ready to serve.
Scarlet Sipper Tips
How do you make alcoholic scarlet sippers?
When adding alcohol to a nonalcoholic drink, first decide how much you want to change the flavor of the recipe. A neutral spirit like vodka will keep the scarlet sipper closer to the original. A citrus or cranberry vodka will blend right into the fruit juice.
Prefer tequila? It’ll push the scarlet sipper somewhere between a margarita and a paloma.
For more of a sangria, add light red wine and a bit of brandy or bourbon.
Can you use ginger beer in a scarlet sipper?
Absolutely! The robust flavor of ginger beer will make the scarlet sippers less sweet and bring a stronger bite of ginger to each sip. Since there are numerous options, we took the liberty of tasting a variety of the most available brands and ranked the best ginger beers.
Can you use other sodas in a scarlet sipper recipe?
Ginger ale brings a pleasant kiss of spicy ginger to this recipe, but the recipe works with other light-colored sodas. Try grapefruit-forward Squirt or lemon-lime Sprite, or skip the soda and opt for flavored sparkling water.
